Saab Made from Jets
*pure commentary*
Saab is currently running a campaign that goes back to the start of the company: jets. Now when I think of Saab I think of nothing even close to a Jet or a plane or even a Sesna.
If Saab came out with some more stylish vehicles in any shape or form I may go along with the marketing but at this point I can not do that. Their cars do not look like everything else on the road (thank you GM with your Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice) or Hyundai and Kia with your copies of other models but still: Saab does not inspire the thought of Jets. If the slogan was for say a Lamborghini Ferrari McLaren or Porsche I may believe it but not a Saab. These are simple cars that simply do not have the design or over the top speed/design to say look at me .
As much as I have rided on the design of Saabs over the years and those Ive known to own them I must admit they have come a long way. Even as I say this I simply can not connect Jet engineers and Saab together. To me they simply dont go together.
Even if they did.... perchance. How does the idea of Jets help sell cars? Is Saab trying to enhance their brand by saying we are fast and sleek or what? Jets are made for fast travel or war. Saab vehicles do neither in my book.
So Saab what are you trying to convince the average consumer? As I have no idea so please tell me.
