This past weekend just like every year 100 s and 1000 s even of Corvettes make their way to St. Charles IL. Here in the middle of June is one of the largest Corvette shows in the country and more then likely the world.
This year some 400+ Corvettes new and old were sold at auction 400 vendors and exhibitors were on location selling anything and everything for Corvette owners and lovers and 1000s of people were there to bask in the warm sun and rows upon rows of Corvettes.
This is the third straight year I attended this event and will post photos up soon. If you are a fan of Corvettes or just of classic cars this is one show not to miss. Corvette owners are permitted to park all up and down the golf course making for a beautiful sight. 1000 s of beautiful Corvettes spread out over most of the beautiful fairways at Pheasant Run golf course. All while you are walking around eating talking and admiring the cars there is an auction going on of only Corvettes. In the coming weeks when Mecum Auction releases the sales from this Auction I will be sure to let you all know as well. Wouldnt it be nice if we all could afford some of those classic Corvettes? The Bloomington Gold Corvette show really is a family friendly and car friendly event that I recommend to all car lovers. Even if you re not a big Corvette fan or Corvette owner it is a great event to attend.
As each day goes on there are all day events and some special events that take place. Below is a list of some of the goings on at Bloomington Gold.
Benchmark - This is America s most prestigious Corvette award. Benchmark Corvettes are not only unrestored but also in showroom new condition. 100% of all Corvettes left the factory as Benchmarks.
GoldCertification - Two words tell what Bloomington Gold and our Judges look for when judging Corvettes; Historic Accuracy. That s right; the way it looked when it left the factory. This is the Gold Standard of Corvette Judging.
GoldField - Visualize over 3 000 Corvettes of every color parked on the golf course. Drive your Corvette and park with them.
GoldMine - Corvettes for Sale by Owner. The GoldMine is conveniently located just inside the main pedestrian entrance to Pheasant Run which makes test runs really easy for prospective buyers.
GoldMarket - Over 400 vendors and exhibitors selling everything for Corvettes. In fact our exhibitors must sell Corvette-related items and nothing else.
GoldSchool - Great for owners buyers sellers collectors restorers dealers appraisers judges or writers etc. Similar to the Antique Road Show our experts will explain what to look for and how to spot the earmarks of genuine and authentic Corvettes and what to avoid.
GoldAuction - The World s Largest Corvette Auction! 400-500 Corvettes will be sold at auction over the three days.
GoldYear - All pre-registered 1956 Corvettes may park in the feature location on the GoldField. Owners will serve as Grand Marshals leading the 2006 GoldTour.
GoldTour - The Guinness Book of Records listed this event as the most Corvettes ever assembled for a tour. Over the years tens of thousands of Corvette drivers have experienced the incredible double back part of the GoldTour.
GoldClubs - Now you and your friends can reserve any number of parking spaces next to each other.
Special Collection - Of the thousands of Corvettes at Bloomington Gold only a small number are hand picked to appear due to their special rarity history or interest. Survivor Judging - This event has become so successful that people want to use our Survivor trademark to describe cars that have not gone through our Survivor judging process. However there is only ONE place to get a legitimate and authentic Survivor Certificate.
